"Slammin' Sammy" SNEAD (1912-2002) won both the Masters and the PGA three times and the British Open once. In 1965, Snead passed Boros' record, becoming the oldest player (52 years, 10 months) to win a PGA tournament (the Greater Greensboro Open). Snead, who compiled a record 84 PGA victories (although the U.S. Open eluded him) was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1953.
