Biography
Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951), the first U.S. winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature (1930), include Main Street (1920) and Babbitt (1922), both nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, Arrowsmith (1926 Pulitzer Prize, refused), Elmer Gantry (1927) and Dodsworth (1929). Lewis, who also wrote a number of plays, acted in some of them.
