Biography | show moreshow less
Sonja Henie (1912-1969), was a Norwegian skating star who won three gold medals in women's singles figure skating in the 1928, 1932, and 1936 Winter Olympics. Already a wealthy woman when she signed with 20th Century-Fox in 1936, she became one of the studio's biggest box office attractions in Hollywood musicals such as One in a Million (1937), Thin Ice (1937), Sun Valley Serenade (1941), and Wintertime (1943). Later in her career, she performed to sell-out crowds in Hollywood Ice Revues at Madison Square Garden and appeared on television skating specials.
