Biography
Steppenwolf, which is named after a Herman Hesse novel, has released eight gold albums and three top 10 songs, including Born to Be Wild, which peaked at no. 2 in 1968, and Magic Carpet Ride, which peaked at no. 3 that same year. The band wasformed in Los Angeles, California in 1967 out of the remnants of the Toronto, Canada-based rock band The Sparrows.
