Biography
Tad Mosel (1922-2008), born George Ault Mosel, was a pioneer of television plays, beginning with his work for the Goodyear Television Playhouse in 1953. Older, established playwrights looked down on the new medium, which paid meager salaries at first, but younger playwrights saw an opportunity in the one-hour dramas, ushering in what has been called the "golden age" of television. All the Way Home won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1961.
