Biography
Timothy Hunt (b. 1943) of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, London, along with his English colleague Paul Nurse and American scientist Leland Hartwell, received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (2001) for "discoveries of 'key regulators of the cell cycle.'" The resulting improvement of our understanding of cell growth is expected to lead to improved cancer treatments.
