In his early years, Singh learned the sport at the Nadi Airport Golf Club in Fiji, often practicing barefoot. Despite the lack of resources and facing numerous challenges, he turned professional in 1982. Singh's career is highlighted by his 34 PGA Tour wins. One of his most notable achievements is securing three major championships: the 2000 Masters, and the PGA Championship in 1998 and 2004. He became World No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking in 2004, holding his position for 32 weeks. During the mid-2000s he consistently challenged Tiger Woods for golf supremacy. In 2003, Singh won four tournaments and topped the PGA Tour money list. The following year was even more impressive, with Singh winning nine times.
