Biography
William Gibbs McAdoo (1863-1941) served as Wilson's Secretary of the Treasury from 1913-1918. On May 7, 1914, 50-year-old McAdoo married President Wilson's 25-year-old daughter, Eleanor, in the White House. They were divorced in 1935. McAdoo, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President in 1920 (the top vote getter on the first Convention ballot) and 1924, later served as a U.S. Senator from California (1933-1938). John Barrett (1866-1938) was the first Director General of the Pan American Union (1907-1921), now called the Organization of American States.
