Biography
Zachary Scott (1914-1965) appeared on London and Broadway stages before making his first film (1944). He proved equally adept at playing sympathetic heroes and suave cads. In 1945, he won two Best Actor awards from the New York Film Critics Circle (for Mildred Pierce and The Southerner. Married to actress Ruth Ford, he was a frequent TV guest star in the 1950s and early 1960s.
