Signature: "Adrian C. Boult/25 August 1961", 5x4. Adrian Cedric Boult (1889-1983) conducted the BBC Symphony Orchestra (1930-1950) and the London Philharmonic (1950-1957). Music conductor at the coronation of King George V (1936), he was knighted the following year. Boult authored two books and several essays on music and conducting. Sir Adrian had a sister named Olive, 7 years his senior, who illustrated books and organized a local choral society sometimes conducted by her brother, but we cannot confirm that she is the signer on verso. Lightly toned. Left edge lightly worn. Fine condition.
