To "Dr. Thatcher", in full: "If convenient to you I will be at your hand tomorrow (Friday) at half past two o'clock. Yours very truly". English surgeon Sir Benjamin Collins Brodie (1783-1862), 1st Baronet Brodie, promoted conservative treatment of diseases of the joints, which greatly reduced amputations. In 1818, he had written Pathological and Surgical Observations on Diseases of the Joints. Multiple mailing folds. Multiple minor ink smears. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
