WILLIAM GOLDING. Philatelic Envelope signed: "William Golding", 6½x3¾. First Day Cover honoring Edith Wharton, 15-cent stamp affixed, postmarked New Haven, CT, September 5, 1980, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Golding, the winner of the 1983 Nobel Prize in Literature for his body of work, is best known for his 1954 novel, Lord of the Flies. He was knighted in 1988. Slightly creased. Fine condition.
