Spacek starred in Raggedy Man (1981) as a divorced mother of two in World War II Texas who develops a friendship with an on-leave sailor - a friendship that gets the town gossips talking. This performance earned Spacek a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture Actress in a Drama. Freckled-faced Spacek, born Mary Elizabeth Spacek in Quitman, Texas in 1949,was among the most popular female stars of the late '70s and '80s. Her true breakthrough came when she played a troubled, shy teenager who discovers that she has telekinetic powers in the chilling adaptation of Stephen King's novel Carrie (1976); her work in the film earned her a Best Actress nomination. She has also received Oscar nominations for Missing (1982), The River (1984), Crimes of the Heart (1986) and In the Bedroom (2001). She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1980 for Coal Miner's Daughter. Lightly scuffed and creased. Signature is lightly smeared. Light impression from disc on cover.
