The actor is shown in a western scene with Tex Ritter from the 1941 film Ridin' the Cherokee Trail.
Photograph signed: "'Slim'/Andrews". B/w, 10x8. The 1941 film Ridin' the Cherokee Trail, directed by Spender Gordon Bennet, tells the story of two Texas Rangers, played by Andrews and Ritter, who go on a search for an outlaw in the Cherokee Strip. Actor Lloyd "Slim" Andrews (1906-1992) was sometimes billed as "Arizona Slim" Andrews in the films he made between 1940 (Rhythm of the Rio Grande) and 1952 (Buffalo Bill in Tomahawk Territory). Andrews appeared as Texas Ritter's sidekick in several films, including the one shown here. Andrews, whose song "Wastin' Time" was heard in his 1940 film, Arizona Frontier, later hosted a children's show in Joplin, Missouri in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was the father of actor John Andrews. Minor surface creases not seen head-on. Otherwise, fine condition.
