Singer, actor, director, producer and writer THORNTON, born William Robert Thornton in Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1955, began his show business career as a singer and musician in Tres Hombres, a band that once opened for Hank Williams, Jr. After moving to Hollywood, he appeared in one film, One False Move (1992), which he co-wrote with childhood friend, Tom Epperson, but he found stardom after writing, directing and starring in Sling Blade (1996), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar. Thornton has since been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for A Simple Plan (1998) and for Golden Globes for The Man Who Wasn't There (2001), Bandits (2001) and Bad Santa (2003). His other film credits include U Turn (1997), Primary Colors (1998), Armageddon (1998), Pushing Tin (1999), Monster's Ball (2001), Interolable Cruelty (2003), Love Actually (2003), The Alamo (2004, as Davy Crockett, his favorite role), Friday Night Lights (2004), Bad News Bears (2005) and The Ice Harvest (2005). Thornton is also known for his high profile romance with and marriage (2000-2003) to actress Angelina Jolie. YOAKAM, born in Pikeville, Kentucky in 1956, is a country singer and songwriter with 10 studio albums that have placed in the top 10 of the country charts, including three no. 1 albums, and 14 top 10 country singles, including two chart-toppers: 1988's The Streets of Bakersfield with Buck Owens and I Sang Dixie. Yoakam is also an actor. He got his professional start in a 1991 episode of P. S. I Luv U and has since appeared in Sling Blade (1996), Panic Room (2002), Hollywood Homicide (2003), The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005) and Wedding Crashers (2005). RITTER (1948-2003, born in Burbank, California), the son of Western music stars Tex Ritter and Dorothy Fay, had minor film roles until his Emmy-winning Jack Tripper on Three's Company (1977-1984). Although he made several films, showing he could handle drama as well as comedy with Sling Blade (1996) and Panic (2000), his real forte was TV comedy. His later shows included Hooperman (1987-1989), Hearts Afire (1992-1995) and Eight Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter (2002-2003). He was taken ill on the Simple Rules set, dying of heart complications on September 11, 2003. Lightly scuffed. Light scratches and impressions on cover. Rounded corners. Otherwise in fine condition.
