THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS: TOM SMOTHERS. Typed DS: "Thomas B Smothers", 1p, 8½x11. Beverly Hills California, circa January 1975. Headed: "Directors Guild of America, Inc./Confidential/Annual Filing Required in By-Laws, Art.  XI, Sec. 2-A". Form for calculating membership dues in the organization. "None" has been typed next to the line for Smothers' 1974 earnings and "Unknown" is typed next to the line for estimated 1975 earnings. At lower portion, Smothers has put a check mark next to "Actor" as his Non-DGA capacity, and he has written "Night Club" next to "Other". Ink initials (unknown hand) at lower right margin. TOM SMOTHERS (1937-2023) and his younger brother, DICK SMOTHERS (born in 1939), first appeared professionally at the Purple Onion in San Francisco in 1959, and they made their first national television appearance on The Jack Paar Show in 1961. The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hourwas televised on CBS from 1967 until, after numerous censorship battles, they were cancelled in 1969. They revived the show in 1988, and the new version of The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour ran until 1989. Tom and Dick have appeared, both together and separately, in feature films and made-for-TV movies and made guest starring appearances on TV series. Tom has appeared on multiple episodes of such TV series as Love, American Style, The Love Boat and Suddenly Susan. The Smothers Brothers, who hold the record for longevity for a comedy duo, still tour across the nation. Lightly creased with folds, not at signature. Slightly soiled at upper blank edge. Receipt stamp and pencil initials (unknown hand) at mid-left portion. Fine condition.
