Autograph pass signed: "Two Seats/Sol Smith Russell", 4x2. Actor and comedian Sol Smith Russell (1848-1902) was a drummer boy in the Union Army during the Civil War. After leaving the army, he performed in theatrical and musical acts in the Midwest before make his New York stage debut in 1871. He later starred in his own theater company and enjoyed great popularity. His talent for character impersonation was showcased in Edgewood Folks (1880), a play written expressly for him by J. E.
