SONNY BONO
He signs with love on a 5x3 card.
Signature: "Love/Sonny/Bono", 5x3 card. Salvatore "Sonny" Bono (1935-1998) and his wife, Cher (born Cherilyn Sarkisian in 1946), emerged as a popular pop/rock duo with hits such as "I Got You Babe" (1965) and "The Beat Goes On" (1967). Inspired by the act they had developed in Las Vegas nightclubs, the couple launched a popular television show (1971-1974). Despite a divorce in 1974, the couple reunited on television (1976-1977), but thereafter pursued separate careers. Sonny later entered politics, first winning election as Mayor of Palm Springs, California (1988) and then serving as a Republican in the U.S. Congress from 1995 until his death in a skiing accident. Ink note on verso (no show-through). Fine condition.
