SONNY OSBORNE
Photograph of the bluegrass duo signed by Sonny on behalf of him and his brother Bobby, dated 1984
Autograph sentiment on printed photograph signed: "Best Wishes/The/Osborne Bros/Bobby/Sonny/1984", in blue felt tip, B/w 10x8. The Osborne Brothers, made up of Sonny (1937-2021) and Bobby Osborne (b. 1931), were a popular bluegrass and country group during the 1960's and 1970's. They first started performing together in the early 1950's, recording their first songs with RCA Victor in 1954. A few years later the group signed with MGM Records and released "Ruby Are You Mad", the first in a long line of success that also included singles "Once More" (1958) and "Rocky Top" in 1967. They had a couple more hits into the 1970's which made them popular enough to perform at the White House, but by the late 1980's, the group had failed to chart again and faded from the music scene. Regardless of popular success, The Osborne Brothers continued to perform until Sonny retired in 2005. Corners slightly worn. Fine condition.
