In Full: "Dear Bob, In response to your request, enclosed is an autographed photograph of myself as 'Boss Hogg' on 'The Dukes of Hazzard.' I am also enclosing the signed cards and a caricature I drew. I wish you the best of luck with your class. Thank you for your letter, and I hope that you and your class will continue to watch and enjoy the show. Cordially," Sorrell Booke (1930-1994) started with character roles on the radio at age 9, graduated from high school at 16 and entered Columbia University-graduating at 19. On to Yale School of Drama, he attained a Master of Fine Arts degree. He entered the military; serving in counterintelligence during the Korean conflict-Booke is fluent in five languages including Japanese. From radio to stage to films to TV, Booke was successful in all and widely respected. Starting out on stage in the 1950s he quickly transitioned to supporting roles in The Ice Man Cometh (1960), Black Like Me (1964), Up the Down Staircase (1967), and Slaughterhouse-Five (1972) and his final (voice performance) - Rock-A-Doodle (1991). Most recognized for his television work, Brooke was the flamboyant J.D. "Boss" Hogg in The Dukes of Hazzard (1979-1985) but had appeared in episodes of The Guiding Light, All in the Family (recurring role), Columbo, Rich Man, Poor Man Book II, Rockford Files, etc. - he earned an Emmy nomination for Dr. Kildare. His voice work can be heard in The Smurfs, Scooby-Doo, and Tom and Jerry Kids Show and many more. Fine condition.
