Space shuttle mission STS-36, the 34th shuttle mission and the sixth for Atlantis, was launched the Kennedy Space Center on February 28, 1990, and returned Edwards Air Force Base on March 4. The spacecraft carried a classified Defense Department payload, believed to have included a "Misty" photo reconnaissance satellite. JOHN O. CREIGHTON was mission Commander, JOHN H. CASPER the Pilot. The Mission Specialists were RICHARD M. MULLANE, DAVID C. HILMERS and PIERRE J. THUOT. Fine condition.
