Commemorative Envelope Signed: "Steve Nagel", "Ken Cameron", "Jerry Ross", "Jay Apt", "Linda Godwin",6½x3½. Envelope postmarked Kennedy Space Center, Florida, April 5, 1991. Space shuttle mission STS-37, the 37th orbital flight and the eighth flight of Atlantis, was launched from Cape Canaveral's Kennedy Space Center on April 5, 1991 and returned to Edwards Air Force Base on April 11. The primary mission was the launching of the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory, the second of the Great Observatories (which also included the visible-spectrum Hubble, the X-Ray Chandra and the infrared Spitzer telescopes. The voyage also included two spacewalks, the first since 1985. The crew was composed of Commander STEVEN R. NAGEL; Pilot KENNETH D. CAMERON, JR.; and Mission Specialists JERRY L. ROSS, JAY APT and LINDA M. GODWIN. Cameron, Apt and Godwin were making their first spaceflights, while Nagel and Ross were each making their third. Fine condition.
