Envelope postmarked Kennedy Space Center, November 24, 1991. Space shuttle mission STS-44, the 44th orbital flight and the tenth flight of Atlantis, was launched from Kennedy Space Center on November 24, 1991 and returned to Edwards Air Force Base on December 1. This was a dedicated mission for the US Department of Defense. Unclassified payloads included a Defense Support Program satellite, and an Extended Duration Orbiter Medical Project. The crew was composed of Commander FREDERICK D. GREGORY; Pilot TERENCE T. HENRICKS; Mission Specialists F. STORY MUSGRAVE, MARIO RUNCO, JR. and JAMES S. VOSS, and Payload Specialist THOMAS J. HENNEN. It was the first spaceflight for Henricks, Runco and Voss, the only one for Hennen, the third for Gregory and the fourth for Musgrave. Fine condition.
