All five crewmembers sign an envelope postmarked on the day their mission launched
Commemorative Envelope signed: "Vance Brand", "Robert L. Gibson", "Bruce McCandless", "Ron McNair" and "Bob Stewart" 6½x3½. Envelope signed by all five crew members of STS 41-B (Challenger). Postmarked February 3, 1984, two stamps affixed (one of which is an 18¢ space shuttle stamp). Signed on left side. The Feb. 3-11, 1984 mission included the first untethered space walk by Mission Specialist BRUCE McCANDLESS II (1937-2017) and a docking with the Russian spacecraft Soyuz-T10 on Feb. 9. VANCE BRAND (b.1931) was the Commander and ROBERT L. "HOOT" GIBSON (b.1946) was the pilot. This was the first shuttle mission to land in Florida. It was the first space flight for mission specialists ROBERT L. "BOB" STEWART (b.1942) and RONALD E. McNAIR (1950-1986, born in Lake City, South Carolina) and the last successful flight for McNair. McNair's next assignment was aboard Challenger 51-L, which exploded 73 seconds after launching on January 28, 1986. Fine condition.
