The Feb. 3-11, 1984 mission included the first untethered space walk by Mission Specialist BRUCE McCANDLESS II (1937-2017) and a docking with the Russian spacecraft Soyuz-T10 on Feb. 9. VANCE BRAND (b.1931) was the Commander and ROBERT L. "HOOT" GIBSON (b.1946) was the pilot. This was also the first space flight for mission specialists ROBERT L. "BOB" STEWART (b.1942) and RONALD E. McNAIR (1950-1986, born in Lake City, South Carolina)… and the last for McNair. McNair's next assignment was aboard Challenger 51-L, which exploded 73 seconds after launch on Jan. 28, 1986. Lightly toned and creased. Stewart's signature is somewhat haloed, but remains legible. Pen skipped while signing Gibson's signature, which is lightly smeared, but remains legible. Otherwise, fine condition.
