This Challenger mission (STS-41C) was launched on April 6, 1984. Before it returned to Earth on April 13, 1984, its crew members had successfully repaired a satellite in orbit for the first time. SCOBEE's next mission, 51-L, was also aboard Challenger: On January 28, 1986, Scobee and six fellow crew members were killed when Challenger exploded 73 seconds after liftoff. Fine condition.
