Commemorative Envelope signed: "Gordon Fullerton", "Roy Bridges", "Karl Henize", "Tony England", "Story Musgrave", "John-David Bartoe", "Loren W. Acton", 6½x3½. Envelope postmarked Cape Canaveral, Florida, July 29, 1985. Space shuttle mission STS-51G, commanded by Gordon Fullerton, the nineteenth orbital flight and the eighth flight of Challenger, was launched from Cape Canaveral's Kennedy Space Center on July 29, 1985 and returned to Edwards Air Force Base on August 6. While STS-51-F's primary payload was the Spacelab-2 module, the payload which received the most publicity was the Carbonated Beverage Dispenser Evaluation, involving sodas specially canned by rivals Coca-Cola and Pepsi. The Spacelab experiments included life sciences; astronomy and astrophysics, and plasma physics. The flight tested a new Instrument Pointing System and an infrared telescope. The crew was composed of Commander C. GORDON FULLERTON; Pilot ROY D. BRIDGES, JR.; Mission Specialists F. STORY MUSGRAVE, ANTHONY W. ENGLAND and KARL G. HENIZE; and Payload Specialists LOREN W. ACTON and JOHN-DAVID BARTOE. Fine condition.
