Commemorative Envelope signed: "Rick Hauck", "David/Walker", "Joe Allen", "Anna Lee Fisher", "Dale A. Gardner", 6½x3½. Envelope postmarked Kennedy Space Center, November 8, 1984. Space shuttle mission STS-51A, the fourteenth orbital flight and the second flight of Discovery. was launched from the Kennedy Space Center on November 8, 1984 and landed at the same site on November 16. This mission deployed two communication satellites and retrieved two others, returning them to earth. The five-person flight crew consisted of FREDERICK M. HAUCK commander, on his second flight; pilot DAVID M. WALKER; and three mission specialists - ANNA L. FISHER, DALE A. GARDNER and JOSEPH P. ALLEN Gardner and Allen, who were making their second shuttle flights, conducted un-tethered space walks to recover the satellites. Fisher, a medical doctor who had worked on payload development and testing for NASA since 1979, was the first mother in space. "Rick Hauck" signature lightly haloed. Otherwise, fine condition.
