THEODORE ROOSEVELT The President signs a rare and extraordinarily large engraving after his Nobel-Prize winning peace efforts. Annotated Engraving Signed, "Theodore Roosevelt" October 13, 1905. The entire engraving takes the view of Roosevelt in a large, overscale oval portraiture, presidential view, framed in an oval border, hanging on a wall over the mantle of a fireplace - the result leaves a magnificent impression. 19x25 visible. Roosevelt has signed at the bottom center for Charles Francis, his minister to Austria-Hungary: "To Hon. Charles S. Francis with the regards of Theodore Roosevelt Oct. 13th 1905." This engraving is Copy #25 of a very limited edition issue. Roosevelt signed and annotated this portrait just one month after successfully completing negotiations at the Treaty of Portsmouth, which ended the war between Russian and Japan.
