Spike Lee, who gained national attention in 1986 for his low-budget film, She's Gotta Have It, became so successful with his works examining racial relations in the U.S., that he established his own production company, 40 Acres and a Mule. Lee was also the co-producer, co-director and co-screenwriter of 1992's Malcolm X. His other films include Do the Right Thing (1989), Jungle Fever (1991), Malcolm X (1992), Clockers (1995), Summer of Sam (1999) and She Hate Me (2004).
