Photograph inscribed and signed: "To J.D.-/Wishing you much/happiness/Stacy Keach" . B/w, 7½x9¾. Born Walter Stacy Keach, Jr. in 1941, Keach is the son of stage, screen and television actor Stacy Keach, Sr. (1914-2003) and the brother of actor James Keach. He is best known for his role as Mike Hammer in the TV series, The New Mike Hammer (1984-1987), which he reprised in two made-for-TV movies, The Return of Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer (1986) and Mike Hammer: Murder Takes All (1989). Keach was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in the TV series, which was also known as Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer and Mike Hammer, in 1984. Beginning his career as a stage actor, Keach was nominated for the 1970 Tony Award for his 1969 Broadway debut in Indians. After making his film debut in 1968 in The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Keach appeared in a long list of films, including Brewster McCloud (1970), The New Centurions and The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean (both 1972), Luther (1974), Gray Lady Down (1977), Up In Smoke (1978), The Long Riders (1980, with brother James), Road Games (1981) and Escape from L.A. (1995). He is especially prolific on the small screen, appearing in numerous made-for-TV movies and miniseries and in numerous guest starring roles on series from Cavalcade of America (1953) to George Lopez (2005). The multitalented Keach, who has also appeared in a number of documentaries, has also produced and directed and written screenplays and musical scores. Image lightly grainy. Lightly scoffed at right not affecting signature. Fine condition.
