STAN FREBERG
The radio actor signs on this 4½x3 card for a fan
Autograph Note Signed: "Best Wishes/to Kayo/from/Stan Freberg", 4½x3. Multitalented comedian, actor, composer, singer, author and advertising executive Stan Freberg (1926-2015), an amazing mimic, began doing voice work on Warner Bros. cartoons and on radio in the early 1940s. His radio work includes "The Jack Benny Show", "Suspense" and his own programs, "The Stan Freberg Show" and "When Radio Was". In addition to acting on radio, Frebert also created radio spots, and he would later become involved in television advertising. One of the first comedians to release a comedy album, Freberg is known for his satirical wit, which inspired such comedians as "Weird" Al Yankovic (Freberg would later provide the voices of J.B. Toppersmith and Papa Boolie on The Weird Al Show from 1997-1998). Freberg's other voice work includes a number of animated films, including Alice in Wonderland (1951), Lady and The Tramp (1955) and Stuart Little, as well as animated TV series, such as The Ren & Stimpy Show (voice of Jiminy Lammox, 1993-1994). Freberg, who has also appeared in films (including It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World in 1963) and guest starred on such TV shows as Roseanne (several appearances as Mr. Parkin in 1996), also created the Time for Beany puppet series (1949) and composed a number of songs, including "John and Marsha" (for which he provided both voices). He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1995. Lightly creased at upper left margin and upper right blank corner. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
