Stan Goldberg (1932-2014) began his career illustrating comics in 1949 at just
sixteen years old. From 1958 to 1969, he worked alongside artists like Steve
Ditko, Jack Kirby, and Stan Lee to create the color schemes for numerous
superheroes made famous on the big screen today. These characters include
Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and the Incredible Hulk, among many others.
After a decade working as a freelance artist for Marvel Comics, Goldberg
began drawing Archie Andrews in 1972, a character that made his first
appearance in the comics in 1941. Archie and his high school friends, including
Moose, Veronica, Betty, Jughead and Reggie, have entertained comic readers for
over 60 years. The cartoonist drew for the Archie Andrews comics until 2010.
