STAN MUSIAL The well-respected baseball Hall of Famer inscribes this 7½x9½ photo to a fan Inscribed Photograph signed: "To Mr. Armstrong/ Best Wishes/ Stan Musial". B/w, 7½x9½. Notes on verso (unknown hand) state: "Stan The Man/ Al Lang Field/ St. Pete/ March 1954". The Hall of Famer is wearing his St. Louis Cardinals uniform, the team he played with throughout his entire career (1941-1963), hitting .331 with 475 home runs. The St. Louis Cardinals' Stan Musial (1920-2013) hit at least .300 for sixteen consecutive years. At his retirement after the 1963 season, the three-time Most Valuable Player held the National League record for most runs, hits, doubles, and RBIs. Musial appeared in 24 All-Star games, won seven batting titles, and had a lifetime batting average of .331. Nicknamed "The Man" by admiring Brooklyn Dodgers' fans, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1969. Notes and mounting remnants on verso (no show-through). Otherwise, fine condition.
