member of the Musial family
Magazine Photograph signed: "Stan Musial" in blue felt tip. Color, 8x10½. Accompanied by a
photocopied letter of provenance from a member of Musial's family, taken from a large
collection of photographs. The St. Louis Cardinals' STAN MUSIAL (1920-2013) hit at
least .300 for sixteen consecutive years. At his retirement after the 1963 season, the
three-time Most Valuable Player held the National League record for most runs, hits,
doubles, and RBIs. Musial appeared in 24 All-Star games, won seven batting titles, and had a
lifetime batting average of .331. Nicknamed "The Man" by admiring Brooklyn Dodgers' fans,
he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1969. Binding holes in left margin. Right edge
frayed and torn. Faint surface creases. Corners and edges gently worn. Otherwise, fine
condition.
