page, 5¾x9. Stanley Kauffmann (1916-2013) was an American author, editor,
film and theatre critic. He is best remembered for his work with The New
Republic newspaper, with which he started in 1958 and worked with for
the next 50 years. Kauffmann discovered the manuscript of Walter Percy's The
Moviegoer, and with his editing the book was awarded a National Book Award
in 1962; also he was featured in the 2009 documentary For the Love of
Movies: The Story of American Film Criticism. He also authored over 10
of his own books on film and theatre criticism. Normal mailing folds. Slightly
