STATE FAIR PLAY CAST: KATHRYN GRANT CROSBY, JOHN DAVIDSON, ANDREA McARDLE, SCOTT WISE, and DONNA NcKECHNIE Five members of the cast pen their names on this playbill Show Bill signed: "Andrea McCardle", "Donna McKechnie", "Hi/John Davidson", "Kathryn/Crosby", "Scott Wise", 74p, 5½x8½. Playbill for a production of State Fair at The Music Box (New York), signed by all five on the front cover. This 1996 production of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic musical ran for 110 performances, notching Tony and Drama Desk nominations for Scott Wise and a Drama Desk nomination for Donna McKechnie. A film starlet of the 1950s (The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, 1957; Anatomy of a Murder, 1959), KATHRYN GRANT CROSBY (b.1933) married film and music idol Bing Crosby in 1957, devoting much of her time to their family and his career until the crooner's death in 1977. In the 1990s she resumed a stage career, returning in a revival of State Fair (1996) to a Broadway stage she first shared with Bing in 1976 (Bing Crosby on Broadway). In addition to stage tours of the U.S., Crosby has performed on the Russian stage in Chekhov's The Seagull and in Hello, Dolly, learning her lines phonetically. JOHN DAVIDSON, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1941, is an American actor, singer and game show host who's probably best known for hosting That's Incredible! (1980-1984) as well as two game shows, The New Hollywood Squares (1986-1989) and a revival of The $100,000 Pyramid (1991-1992). Davidson, who received his start on the stage, has also appeared on Broadway, recorded 12 albums and acted in 30 TV shows and films. Singer/actress ANDREA McCARDLE (b. 1963) was pulled from the chorus during rehearsals to sing the title role in the first Broadway production of Annie (1977), winning a Theatre World award and becoming the youngest actress ever nominated for a Tony. She reprised the role in the London production. McArdle was a natural choice to play Judy Garland in the 1978 NBC biopic Rainbow. While she has appeared often enough on television, McArdle's preferred venues are musical theater and cabaret performances. Her stage credits, on Broadway, on tour, or in regional productions, include leading roles in The Wizard of Oz, Starlight Express, Les Miserables. Evita, Beauty and the Beast, Cabaret and Annie Get Your Gun. She has starred in many Las Vegas and Atlantic City showrooms, and has released CDs on Broadway and Christmas themes. American actress DONNA McKECHNIE (b. 1940) won the 1976 Tony Award for best Actress in a Musical for her performance in A Chorus Line (1975-1990) and was nominated for a for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical 20 years later for her role in State Fair (1996). Other Broadway performances include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1961-1965), Promises, Promises (1970-1972) and Company (1993). Her film and television credits include Dark Shadows (1969-1970), The Little Prince (1974) and Cheers (1982). Dancer, actor and choreographer SCOTT WISE made his early Broadway appearances as a replacement in A Chorus Line, Cats and Guys and Dolls. Then he won a Tony as Best Featured Actor in Jerome Robbins' Broadway, followed by nominations for the same award in State Fair and Fosse (1999). Wise starred and functioned as assistant choreographer in Movin' Out (2002-2005). He also performed as a dancer in the film versions of both A Chorus Line and Chicago. Fine condition.
