Typed Letter Signed: "Stephen King" on verso of postal card, 5½x3½. 10-cent imprinted postage, postmarked Center Lovell, Maine, July 10, 1980. To "Robert F. Allen, Jr." (Handwritten by King over typed addressee line). In full: "Sorry-I don't have any glossies on hand. I don't get many requests for my picture-I try not to take that personally! Hope this finds you well in Rockland. Thanks for including me...Be well". Typed date of "7-7-80" at upper margin. Handwritten (unknown hand) address label to Allen in Lewiston, Maine affixed on front. In 1980, King published his novel, Firestarter, and the non-fiction book, Danse Macabre. Prolific horror writer Stephen King (born in 1947) burst onto the scene with Carrie (1974), which, like many of his other works, was adapted for the big screen. His other books include 'Salem's Lot (1975), The Shining (1977), Cujo (1981), Pet Sematary (1983), Misery (1987), The Tommy Knockers (1988), Dolores Claiborne (1993), The Green Mile (1996) and Dreamcatcher (2000), and King has also written acclaimed short stories as well as novels under the pen name of Richard Bachman. Slightly creased at blank corners. Lightly soiled. Fine condition.
