Stephen Marvin Young (1889-1984) was a Democratic U.S. Senator from Ohio from 1959-1971. Young, a veteran of both WWI and WWII, had previously served in the Ohio state House of Representatives (1913-1917) and was a U.S. Representative from Ohio in 1933-1937, 1941-1943 and 1949-1951. An unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic nomination for the presidency in 1968, Young had also run unsuccessfully for Ohio state Attorney General (1922, 1956) and Governor of Ohio (1930, 1936). Creased at upper background, touching upper portion of head. Minor surface creases at lower portion. Ink notes (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Overall, fine condition.
