Cat", Alley was the leading scorer in the State of Minnesota in high school
and was selected to the All-Conference and All-State teams. Before turning
professional, he participated as a member of the US National Team in the 1976
Winter Olympics as well as in the 1974, 1975, and 1978 Ice Hockey World
Championships, and played for the University of Wisconsin. His WHA career
was short since the Bulls collapsed in 1979, he played 105 games with 25 goals
and 61 points; and his NHL career was even shorter, playing only 15 games with
the Whalers with 3 goals and 6 points. Alley retired from hockey in 1981. Very
