Ottawa, Kansas in 1951, was Mission Specialist on five flights of the
Discovery and Columbia between 1984 and 1999. An astronomer
who worked at the United States Naval Observatory in 1972 and the National Radio
Astronomy Observatory from 1973 to 1974, Hawley was Mission Specialist on
STS-41D (Aug. 20 to Sept. 5, 1984, the maiden flight of the
Discovery), STS-61C (Jan. 12-18, 1986), STS-31 (April-24-29, 1990,
which deployed the Hubble Space Telescope), STS-82 (Feb. 11-21, 1997) and
STS-93 (July 22-27, 1999, which deployed the Chandra X-Ray Observatory).
Lightly toned, otherwise in fine condition.
