Robert "Dutch" Holland, an aging WWII bomber pilot who is called back to active duty. Allyson plays his wife, Sally. JAMES STEWART (1908-1997) starred in more recognized masterpieces of the American cinema than any other actor. In 1940, he won the Best Actor Academy Award for The Philadelphia Story, and he was nominated for Oscars in the same category for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), It's A Wonderful Life (1946), Harvey (1950) and Anatomy of a Murder (1959). Stewart, who was awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 1984, also appeared in You Can't Take It With You, Destry Rides Again, Rear Window, Vertigo, The Spirit of St. Louis, The Greatest Show on Earth and a long list of other features. Frequently portraying wholesome girls-next-door and perfect wives, JUNE ALLYSON (1917-2006) made more than a score of films for MGM, most often in musicals and comedies. In addition to this movie, she co-starred with James Stewart in other films including The Stratton Story (1949) and The Glenn Miller Story (1954). Allyson hosted her own dramatic anthology TV series from 1959-1961, and remained active in film character roles, TV guest appearances and commercials. Lightly creased. ¼-inch separation at left edge (all intact). Overall, fine condition.
