letterhead to Danny Franklin, Phoenix, Arizona. In full: "I received
your letter of August 16, 1972, and wish to thank you for your words of
encouragement and remarks about the Northwest Territories. Enclosed, please find
an autographed decal which is the fulfillment of your request. Also I have
enclosed a copy of our most recent publication called 'Arctic in Colour'.

picturesque publication designed to attract southerners to learn more about and
to visit this part of the country. I am sorry to hear that your holiday ended so
suddenly. I am sure you consider yourself very lucky as you indicated you walked
away from the accident without any injury. In closing, may I extend to you best
wishes for good health and much success. Yours sincerely". Stuart M. Hodgson
was Commissioner of Canada's Northwest Territory (1967-1979). Hodgson
participated in the power shift which accompanied the seating of the Territory's
first elected legislature (1975). A founder of the Arctic Winter Games
(1970), he donated the Hodgson Trophy, a piece of Inuit artwork, to the
