SUGARFOOT TV CAST: WILL HUTCHINS and ANTHONY CARUSO
Scene from the episode "The Extra Hand," with "Sugarfoot" Hutchins holding a gun on a captured Caruso
Photograph signed: "Howdy!/Will Sugarfoot/Hutchins", "Anthony Caruso". B/w, 8x10. Still from "The Extra Hand," an episode of Sugarfoot broadcast January 20, 1959. Screen and television actor WILL HUTCHINS (born Marshall Lowell Hutchason in 1932) played an "aw-shucks" young frontier lawyer, Tom Brewster, on the popular TV series, Sugarfoot (1957-1960). After film roles, which included Merrill's Marauders (1962), TV guest appearances and a shorter-lived series (as Dagwood in Blondie, 1968), free spirit Hutchins moved on to the role of circus clown and ringmaster and traveled widely through the world. He returned to the big screen occasionally, appearing in such films as Maverick (1994) and Gunfighter (1998). ANTHONY CARUSO (1916-2003, born in Frankfort, Indiana), who made his first film in 1940 and was a frequent TV guest star from the 1950s, often but not always cast as a villain. Star Trek fans may recognize Caruso as Bella Oxmyx, a gangster on the original series episode A Piece of the Action (1968). Caruso played 14 different characters on the TV Western Gunsmoke, and was Captain Ortega on the first season of Disney's Zorro (1957-1958). Lightly soiled. Light surface scratches Toned at margins and edges. Lightly bowed. Otherwise, fine condition.
