SUNBURN MOVIE CAST: CO-SIGNED BY FARRAH FAWCETT, CHARLES GRODIN and ART CARNEY
The three stars of the 1979 film are shown in this color publicity photograph.
Photograph signed: "Best Wishes/Art Carney", "fond regards,/Farrah Fawcett" and "Charles/Grodin", Color 10x8. Publicity photograph for the 1979 film Sunburn. Former model FARRAH FAWCETT, (1947-2009), reached stardom in the TV series Charlie's Angels (1976-1977). She made films after the show ended, including her critically acclaimed performance as a battered wife in the TV movie The Burning Bed (1984). She earned a string of Emmy- and Golden Globe nominations in the late 1980s for that film, and for Extremities, Nazi Hunter: the Beate Klarsfeld Story, Poor Little Rich Girl: the Barbara Hutton Story and Small Sacrifices. Fawcett was a pop culture icon and glamour symbol in the 1970s and '80s, and many imitated the hair style she is wearing in this photo. Married to actor Lee Majors from 1973 to 1982, she was the partner thereafter of actor Ryan O'Neal. Stage, screen and television actor ART CARNEY (1918-2003) began his show business career as a comedian, moving into a sidekick role for others. While serving in WWII, Carney was hit by shrapnel (leaving him with a slight limp) during the Normandy landing. After the war he found much work on Broadway, both as a dramatic and comic actor. He is best known, however, for his role as Ed Norton, Jackie Gleason's pal, on the classic 1950s TV sitcom, The Honeymooners. Later, personal problems caused him to leave the Broadway run of The Odd Couple (Carney had originated the role of Felix Unger in 1965). He soon returned to work as an actor, going on to win the Best Actor Academy Award for his performance as a 72-year-old in Harry and Tonto in 1974. Carney also won several Emmy Awards for his work on TV, and he was nominated for the 1969 Best Actor Tony Award. An occasional film star (The Heartbreak Kid, 1972), CHARLES GRODIN more often plays comic (or comically villainous) supporting roles. His film credits also include Rosemary's Baby (1968), Real Life (1979) and Beethoven (1992). The author of several books and many essays, Grodin hosted his own talk show on CNBC (1995-1999) and became a correspondent on 60 Minutes II in 2000. Slightly creased at top right corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
