Photograph signed: "Noell Neill/ 'Lois Lane'", and "Tommy Bond/ 'Jimmy Olson'". B/w, 10x8. NOEL NEILL (1920-2016) is an American actress with over 70 TV shows and movies to her credit. Neill made her film debut in 1940. As a child, she wanted to be a journalist like her father. Ironically, her most famous character was a newspaper employee: Lois Lane, Superman's love interest and a journalist at the Daily Planet. She was the first actress to portray Lois Lane, appearing as the character in the 1948 film Superman. Neill reprised the role in Atom Man vs. Superman (1950) and the television show Adventures of Superman (1953-1958). She has made appearances in several superhero productions, including cameos in Superman Returns (2006) and Superboy (1988-1992). Other credits include a series of 1940s Bobby-soxer films that starred Freddie Stewart. TOMMY "BUTCH" BOND (1927-2005), shown here as cub reporter Jimmy Olson, played many youthful film roles as a brat or neighborhood bully, notably in many of the Our Gang comedies. As "Butch" he played the neighborhood bully in many of the Our Gang comedies. In other roles as a young brat, he bedeviled adult comedians such as Laurel and Hardy. He later played cub reporter Jimmy Olson in Superman film serials (1948-1950). Leaving acting in 1951, he became an executive for Metromedia television. Retired in 1990, he became a familiar and popular figure at nostalgia conventions. Fine condition.
