SUPERMAN TV CAST: NOEL NEILL and JACK LARSON
The two actors are shown with George Reeves as Superman in the episode "The Jolly Roger" in this black and white photograph, signing with their character names as well as their real names

Photograph signed: "Noel Neill/ 'Lois Lane'", "Jack Larson/ ('Jimmy Olsen'". B/w 8x10. Shown with George Reeves as Superman in "The Jolly Roger," the episode which ended the 4th season. NOEL NEILL and JACK LARSON will always be remembered for their roles in TV's The Adventures of Superman (1952-1958). Larson was cast as cub reporter Olsen for all 6 seasons, while Neill replaced Phyllis Coates as "Daily Planet" reporter and the "Man of Steel's" potential love interest in 1953. Both became so typecast in these roles that they found few attractive parts thereafter. NOEL NEILL (1920-2016) is an American actress with over 70 TV shows and movies to her credit. Neill made her film debut in 1940. As a child, she wanted to be a journalist like her father. Ironically, her most famous character was a newspaper employee: Lois Lane, Superman's love interest and a journalist at the Daily Planet. She was the first actress to portray Lois Lane, appearing as the character in the 1948 film Superman. Neill reprised the role in Atom Man vs. Superman (1950) and the television show Adventures of Superman (1953-1958). She has made appearances in several superhero productions, including cameos in Superman Returns (2006) and Superboy (1988-1992). Other credits include a series of 1940s Bobby-soxer films that starred Freddie Stewart. JACK EDWARD LARSON (1928-2015), with even less chance to avoid type-casting, pursued an off-screen film role, producing or co-producing such films as The Paper Chase (1973), Urban Cowboy (1980) and Bright Lights, Big City (1988).
