SUSAN CLARK
She responds to a fan in 1995, thanking him for watching Webster.
Typed letter signed: "Susan" in black ink. 1 page, 8½x11. Burbank, California, April 7, 1995. On her personal letterhead to, "Dear Rick", Rick Suarez, Tampa, Florida, in full: "Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to write such a lovely letter. Enclosed you will find the photo or signature card you requested. Yes, Alex Karras and I would enjoy working on television and in films again - doing work that would reflect the 1990s - just as we did with film and the series, WEBSTER, in the 80s. You may not be aware that when WEBSTER first aired in 1983, it received terrible reviews. But the audience loved the show and let ABC and the advertisers known how they felt. Because of the audience, WEBSTER played for 4 years on ABC and two Choice Awards. WEBSTER is still being shown in syndication around the world. All because of the support of loyal fans like you. We enclose a copy of letter s that Chris Larkin, who founded our fan club recently wrote to ABC and CBS. If you agree with Chris, you could write a note to her on write directly to the networks and let them known how you feel - tell them what and who you would enjoy watching on television. As a performer, I known how important fans are - without your support in the past, WEBSTER would not have been the success it was. I want you to known how much I value your continued support. Thank you. Sincerely" Canadian actress Susan Clark (b.1940) starred opposite Clint Eastwood in Coogan's Bluff (1968) and portrayed Amelia Earhart in a 1976 TV movie. She won an Emmy for portraying Babe Didrikson Zaharias in the TV movie Babe (1975). Babe's husband was played by Clark's future husband, pro football Hall of Famer Alex Karras, with whom Clark was paired again in the popular TV sitcom Webster (1983-1989). Normal mailing folds. Slightly creased. Fine condition.
