blue ink. 8x10. British actress Susan Hampshire (b. 1938) won three Emmy Awards for her
roles in Fleur Forsythe in The Forsythe Saga(1970), Sarah Churchill in The First
Churchills(1971) and Becky Sharp in Vanity Fair(1973). An actor since childhood,
Hampshire's first movie appearance was in 1947's The Woman in the Hall, but she didn't
have her frist taste of stardom until a bit role in the 1958 London stage production of
Expresso Bongo. Walt Disney picked Hampshire up for a few films, including The Three
Lives of Thomasina (1963) and The Fighting Prince of Donegal (1966). To avoid being
typecast as a children's actor, she appeared either partly or fully nude in Night Must Fall
(1964) and Paris in the Month of August (1966). Hampshire is also a children's author and, in
1982, published her autobiography Susan's Story, which revealed her lifelong fight with
dyslexia. In all, she's had acting credits in almost 60 movies and TV shows, with recurring
roles in The Andromeda Breakthrough (1962), Katy (1962), The Pallisers (1974), The Grand
(1997-1998) and Monarch of the Glen (2000-2005). Corners lightly creased. Otherwise, fine
