Suzan Ball (1934-1955), a second cousin of Lucille Ball, embarked
on a promising film career with supporting roles in several adventure films from
1952 to 1955 (Yankee Buccanneer, War Arrow, Chief Crazy
Horse). Diagnosed with cancer in 1953, she lost a leg to amputation, but
married actor Richard Long and resumed her career. She succumbed to her
illness at age 21. A vocalist with Mel Baker's orchestra before going to
Hollywood, the intrepid Ball embarked on a nightclub tour shortly before her
death. Corners worn with pin sized holes, soiled with adhesive residue (also on
verso). Lightly bowed and toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
